2010 and Remembering Christ

What did you do for Christ in 2010?
What did God do in your life in 2010?
How much of the Bible did you read and/or study?
Was it a good year? Why or why not?
What moments were tough and why?
What were the special moments?
How did your faith grow in 2010? Take some time to reflect on these things and
how your life changed in 2010 because of these things.

I don’t know about you, but life has never asked me what I wanted. Instead, life seems to have plans of its own, and usually to my chagrin.
Let me say all of that in the Christian context.
I have plans. God shakes His head and reminds me that HE has plans.
My writing is one of those. As you can see from how little I’ve been writing lately, writing ahs been one of those plans that God hasn’t had for me lately.
I will check in with you mostly at:

So, check there before you check anywhere else about the latest and greatest information about me, my writing, my life, etc.
I cherish your prayers as God has me move into full-time ministry and hope to write on the side.
God bless.

Hello, my friend. How are you today? How has your week been so far? How’s your family and how is work? I’ve been thinking and praying for you.

I wanted to write and catch you up with everything going on in my life… Which is LOTS. There’s a lot going on here—or lots going on here—depending on how you want to phrase it.

1st, news about life in general. You’ll notice that I haven’t mentioned my husband’s name in my blog or what he does for a living. There is a reason for that. I want to respect his privacy. He doesn’t have much of a choice about his wife being a writer, but I can offer him his privacy. Now, having said that… I will be a little more specific about what he does for a living, but still vague. Let’s just say that he’s a ‘ministry leader’. That’s precisely what he does, but it’s more specific than that.

Now, having said all of that, I need to tell you more specifically what’s going on in my life so you understand what’s new in my world.

2nd, since my husband and I got back to Omaha and his ministry here, we’ve both been asked to take on a much more public role which requires a great deal of our time and resources as we spread the gospel and support present Christians who are part of the ministry.

Well, that isn’t entirely true. He was asked. God told me to become just as active. My main roles are: listening, prayer, supporting my husband, and Bible study—plus my writing.

Needless to say, time has become very limited in my life. Very limited. Let me stress that component.

3rd, every day requires 3-4 hours in Bible study, prayer, and reflection in order to make sure I’m straight with God and am doing what I need to be doing and am focused on what I’m supposed to focus on—God and His Word. If I’m right where I need to be spiritually, I have more to offer my husband, his ministry, and our ministry.

4th, because my time is not my own, you’ll see a little less of me in some ways. I’m having to make some difficult choices and need to focus on what really matters—what God wants from me and my life. See the section below of: “I’m Not Sure…”

Consequently, you’ll see fewer blogs and fewer journal entries at the following: http://rememberingyourpresent.wordpress.com and at: http://rememberchrist.livejournal.com

My new full-time and most updated blog is at: http://www.rememberchrist.wordpress.com

Ministry, and working for the Lord, always requires sacrifice. This is no different.

I have no idea whatsoever as to what’s going on with my writing. I just know that I will write devotionals and thoughts at my main blog of: http://rememberchrist.wordpress.com frequently and at http://rememberpresent.livejournal.com from time to time.

My ColMystery series has been put on hold. Figures. So, don’t look for that any time soon.

But, I’ll keep you updated on this blog of: http://www/rememberingyourpresent.wordpress.com regarding my writing. So, stay tuned periodically.

Luke 9:23-24 (NLT) states:

23 Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.

This is what I’m holding onto… Luke 9:23-24 (NLT).

See you there.

“MURDER IN THE KITCHEN” is my current writing project.

That’s a good question. I’m writing the book and find it fun and tricky to respond to, in truth.

But, to make it simple, it’s a futuristic cozy mystery with a little romance in it.

FYI: The average full-length novel is 80,000 words, by the way.

Now, I’ll give you my answer. I’m aiming for somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 words.

I’m about halfway through writing “MURDER IN THE KITCHEN: BOOK 1 OF THE COLMICIDE MYSTERY SERIES” and I have a confession...

I LOVE this new book. It’s a little dark in some places in the book, since it is a murder mystery, but the rest of the book is lighter. Now, keep in mind---I’m Christian. So, I refuse to go into great detail about the crime scene and don’t have sex in it either. But, it’s not needed. It won’t be missed. There’s too much going on to miss those things.

The characters seem to have great depth and there’s lots of conflict where there are several roadblocks the characters of the book keep running into—and about the time they think they’re through them, more appear.

While I don’t think anything can come close to the joy it was to write “Cammi’s Story: The 1st Quest for the Lost Volumes” of the Lethana Series, this one is pretty darn close. It’s very different since it’s a mystery and isn’t a fantasy, like “Cammi’s Story.”

I can see this series taking off in the long-run. I also can see several books coming out in this series.

The Colmicide Mystery Series is Based On...

By the way, there are the authors that the Colmicide Mystery Series is based on and I thought you might like to see if you could get an idea what they will look like once written:

~ J.D. Robb

~ Joanne Fluke

~ Kate Collins

~ Cleo Coyle

~ Janet Evanovich

“Murder in the Kitchen:

Book 1 of the Colmicide Mystery Series”

Genre: Cozy Mystery with a little romance

Short Book Summary: Amanda Holden lives in Oakhaven, Nebraska and works for Colmicide, a division of law enforcement dedicated to solving cold cases in the year 2176. She is in the middle of a case that looks like Jack the Ripper has returned and it all starts when there was a body found in her kitchen. Now, if only she can stay alive and keep a partner—never mind keep her family from driving her too crazy.

Writer's Block: Me, myself, and I

Which one word would you use to describe yourself, and why?

"Faithful" is the one word I'd use to describe myself.
I'm faithful to my faith (in prayer and in the Word--the Bible), to my husband, to my family and friends, and to my writing.

Writer's Block: Living the dream

What is your ultimate dream job? Do you think you'll ever live the dream?

My ultimate dream job is to write full-time. That's what I'm doing. I write novels for a living--fantasy, romance, adult contemporary, and cozy mystery. I also write books on how to journal, devotional books, books on marriage, Bible studies, and Christian Living books.

It took 8.5 years of a lot of hard work and preparation for it, but it finally came to pass. Therefore, I'm living my dream and am quite blessed because of it. What an answer to prayer!
